Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. This is to say that there is no pre-determined duration for which we will retain your details in our databases.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. This data is treated carefully and strong efforts have been made to protect it.
How we use your data for communicating with you
Purchases made for PunchedCON tickets automatically sign you up to our newsletter. This is not a promotional service, it is a way for us to keep you informed about the event that you have made a purchase to attend. You can opt out of these communications at any time should you wish to do so.
We do not sell, give, share, or in any other way allow your data to be accessed by third party companies for any purposes.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
There may be some personal data that we are unable to delete or destroy. This could include transaction history from our payment processors. While we are able to control the data that we hold on the PunchedCON website, our payment processors also store data about transactions that you have made. These are financial transactions and they are not able to be deleted. We can however ensure that all data that we hold ourselves is destroyed upon request where possible.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We use the email addresses of people who have purchased PunchedCON tickets to send newsletter notifications. The service we use for this currently is MailChimp, but we do not provide your email address to MailChimp for them to use for their own purposes. Rather, we use their service to send you newsletters.
